“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
Brené Brown

Currently accepting clients for teletherapy appointments across Tennessee and in-person sessions in Cookeville, TN.

Inner Alchemy Counseling
is dedicated to promoting an environment of respect and appreciation for the race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex, national origin, age, ancestry, physical/mental ability, status as a veteran, sexual orientation, marital status, parental status, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, and socioeconomic status of all persons. We are committed to creating and maintaining an atmosphere of openness, trust, and safety where all attitudes, beliefs, values, and behaviors can be freely explored and discussed. We fully embrace providing high quality mental health and wellness services that affirm the dignity, worth and value of all individuals. In doing so, we strive to provide a welcoming and enriching environment that is conducive to the intellectual, emotional, and social development of our diverse community.

Inner Alchemy Counseling takes its name from the ancient science and art of alchemy, a process in which one attempted to turn base materials, like lead, into something precious, such as gold.

Thinking of ourselves through the metaphorical lens of alchemy, as humans, we develop various layers of selves over the course of our lives, influenced by our relationships, societies, and cultures in which we live. When we, as humans, attempt to transform our internal "lead," (what Carl Jung called the shadow or most vulnerable parts of ourselves), into "gold," (that which is most authentic and valuable within us), then we may begin to feel we are living more in alignment with our true values, or what Brene Brown calls "wholehearted living". This "transformation" can occur through the self-reflection, observing "what is" with compassion, and making shifts in our perspective, mindset, and behaviors.

As a counselor, I see counseling as a collaborative process and relationship; one in which I strive to provide a space that allows you, the client, to be heard, cared for, and provided an opportunity to identify what is it you'd like to work on and support you as you make helpful shifts.

Forget your perfect offering
There's a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in."
